2 What Swedish sellers should do

If you are a producer under the Swedish EPR definition, you must obtain an EPR registration number for each applicable product category from the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency.

If you are a producer of packaging, batteries or EEE products, you must register with a Swedish approved recycling system or PRO for each applicable product category.

Declaration:

Regardless of whether you are a producer or not, you must report the sales volume of the type of EPR product you sell to the appropriate PRO or nationally approved recycling system within the required reporting period whenever you send applicable products for sale in France, Germany or Sweden.

If you sell applicable products under the EPR to Sweden that do not fall under the categories of packaging, batteries or EEE, you may choose to report directly to the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency or through PRO or the Swedish approved recycling system.

Payment:

Regardless of whether you are a producer or not, as long as you are sending the Applicable Products for sale in France, Germany or Sweden, you will have to pay an environmental payment to the relevant PRO or nationally-approved recycling system, which will be determined by the PRO or nationally-approved recycling system on the basis of the type of the EPR product and the type of the equipment that you are selling (e.g., refrigerators, chairs, televisions, etc.), the attributes of the product (e.g., the packaging material), and the quantity and/or weight of the products that you are selling.

If you sell applicable products under the EPR to Sweden that do not fall into the categories of packaging, batteries or EEE, you may choose to make your environmental payments directly to the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency or through PRO or a Swedish approved recycling system.

If you are a producer under the Swedish EPR definition, an additional annual fee must be paid to the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency.
