Interpretation of U.S. Children's Toy Labeling Compliance

1、Applicable age of children's toys

According to the requirements of the relevant toy regulations, all toy commodities should bear age information labels on the body or retail packaging to indicate the minimum age at which they are expected to be suitable.

2、U.S.A.. toys 6 kinds of choking hazard warning language

In accordance with the requirements of the U.S. Act, the following is the display of warning labels for six types of choking hazard toys:

3. U.S. Imitation Gun Warning Labels

Under U.S. law, imitation guns sold into California and/or Minnesota are required to have a warning labeled accordingly.

Attention:

  • The manufacturing location must be real and valid, with detailed address so that the manufacturer can be contacted. For example, house number (if applicable), street number, township/street, county/district, city/district, province/city.
  • Labels on products must be permanent and able to remain intact for the expected life of the children's product. Alternatively, for labels on packaging, if the packaging is disposable, the labels need only be durable enough to remain intact until they reach the consumer, so stick-on labels may be used.
  • In most cases, labels need to be placed on the product packaging and on the product itself. Even if the product is too small to be labeled directly, it must still be labeled on the product's packaging.

5. Warning labels for water toys

According to the regulations, the body and packaging of water toys should bear the following safety warning labels:

6. Warning label for children's magnetic/electrical experiment sets

  • WARNING should be in all uppercase sans-serif letters, not less than1⁄8 inch (3.2 mm) high, and centered or left-aligned; warning symbols (a triangle with an exclamation point inside) should precede the signal, and the triangle should not be lower than the height of the signal; text describing the hazard (e.g., "Not suitable ......), should be displayed in sans-serif, left- or center-aligned font, with capital letters no smaller than1⁄16 inch (1.6 mm), and where possible, such text should begin on the next line of the signal word, with a new line for each type of alert.
  • The label should be eye-catching, clear and readable, contrasting with the background, firmly adhered to the product, and the lettering will not be easily abraded.

7. U.S. Battery Operated Riding Toys Labeling

If you sell a battery-operated ride-on toy, the following safety warning labels should be on the body of the toy:
