As required by U.S. federal regulations, children's apparel that is smaller than or equal to the sizes specified in standards 16CFR 1615.1(o) and 16CFR 1616.2(m) is required to display the following labeling elements in accordance with the requirements of the regulations:
1、 Size Label
If you need to indicate the size of the garment, you can use the age of the month or the child's size to indicate it. For example, "Size 9 to 12 mos.", "Size 2″ or "Size 7″. If the label is not visible to the consumer at retail, the same information must appear clearly on the packaging of the garment to ensure that it is visible to the consumer.
2. Hangtags need to contain the following warning language and meet the following requirements:
- Hangtag measures 1.5 inches by 6.25 inches.
- The text of the warning message must be in an 18-point Arial/Helvetica font within a 1" x 5.75" text box.
- The background of the tag is yellow and the font is black.
- The yellow background meets the safety color specification of the U.S. National Standard with a 5.0Y hue and a value/chroma of 8.0/12.
- One side of the tag displays only the warning message; the reverse side can display sizing information or remain blank.
- The text must not obscure the holes that secure the tag to the garment.
- The tag must be securely attached to the garment to ensure visibility.
3. The package needs to contain the following warning message and meet the following requirements:
- If the garment is sold in a package, the package must carry the same warning message as the hangtag.
- Labels must measure 0.75 inches by 3.75 inches for text boxes.
- Text must be in 11 point Arial/Helvetica font with a yellow background and black font.
- Packaging must be clearly, conspicuously and legibly labeled with the required information.
- Labels can be attached to the package
4. Leader labeling information requirements:
The label on the collar must be centered on the inside collar and adjacent to the size label. The text is required to be at least 5-pound capital sans-serif letters, separated from other labels by a line border, and contrasted with the background of the label. The label must not be covered by other labels.
