Middle East VAT# United Arab Emirates VAT
On July 31, 2023, the UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) emphasized that businesses making e-commerce sales must strictly comply with the UAE's value-added tax (VAT) reporting requirements.
The UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) said that from July 1 transactions arising from e-commerce sales will be required to state the specific emirate where the order was placed and the goods delivered in the VAT return, specifying whether the delivery was made in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or any other emirate.
It is important to note that this requirement only applies to e-commerce businesses with annual sales of more than Dh100 million.
