It's very important for all sellers to see this! Must see! Must see! Amazon has opened the link to upload the German WEEE registration code. A portal for filling in the German WEEE registration number has been added to the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) compliance information page in the seller backend:
The registration time was more than 10 weeks and now there are less than 11 weeks left before the compliance date, which is a very tight schedule! The Amazon platform has issued several notices that sellers need to submit their German WEEE registration applications by the end of October this year, so sellers must make arrangements as soon as possible!
Green Circle Reminder:
Uploading your registration code and complying with the recycling fee requirements is required to be truly compliant, and starting January 1, 2023, sellers will need to submit a portal to upload your WEEE registration number within a limited time frame or Amazon will stop selling + take down + fine you for non-compliant items!

2、If the products in the equipment category are not branded or not associated with a brand, the WEEE registration number cannot be bound.
Sellers will receive a reminder of German WEEE registration in their backend, if sellers are not sure whether Amazon determines that they have a registration obligation for a certain category, they can click in to check. If there is a certain category upload link, it means that Amazon determines that there is a requirement for uploading this category, if a category is not shown, it means that Amazon temporarily determines that there is no German WEEE registration obligation.
Summary based on Amazon screenshot:
1、Branding must be done in order for the platform to open the WEEE number uploading window.
2、If there are multiple electronic and electrical classifications or multiple brands of products on the platform, a brand corresponding to a category will be bound to a WEEE number (even if it is the same one, but need to be bound multiple times), now most sellers basically only apply for a category of a brand.
If the seller's sales on the platform actually have multiple categories and brands, then the pre-registered registration code that contains only one category and one brand cannot cover all the products sold in the store, and the products that are not covered will be prohibited from being sold.
3、If the seller has not done the brand record in the platform, there is no upload window in the Amazon platform.
Notes:
According to Amazon's rules, in order for the German WEEE registration code to be filed successfully on the platform, in addition to choosing the correct category, the backend must also file the brand, and the brand needs to be the same as the brand on the German WEEE certificate.
According to Amazon's validation rules, the platform validates German WEEE registration numbers by brand & category. Each seller can apply for only one WEEE-Reg.-Nr number in the EAR, but multiple categories can be registered under each number. Since most sellers have multiple categories of products in their stores, when uploading, the backend will also show the corresponding category combinations, i.e. one category and one brand is a combination.
Two common scenarios:
❖
The first scenario
Seller has equipment type 1: Brand A, B, C
Seller has equipment type 2: Brand A, B
This means that 5 registrations need to be completed.
Second Scene
Seller has equipment type 1: Brand A, B, C
Seller has equipment type 2: Brand A, B
Seller has equipment type 3: Brand D, E, F
This means that 8 registrations need to be completed.
