The UK has been officially out of the European Union for some time now, with the region of Great Britain (England, Scotland, Wales) leaving the EU system, but Northern Ireland remaining in the EU market to some extent. This move makes the management of the relevant markets in the UK less manageable.
In fact, in January this year, the United Kingdom has been gradually replaced by the European Union CE mark to UKCA (United Kingdom Conformity Assessment) mark, which also affects a lot of cross-border e-commerce sellers.
About the use of the UKCA logo
UKCA is a mark that must be affixed to products placed on the UK market in Great Britain (i.e. England, Wales and Scotland) to indicate that the product complies with all applicable laws in Great Britain. The marking applies to most products that would otherwise require CE marking.
The CE Marking will no longer be recognized in Great Britain from 23:00 hours on December 31, 2022 if the goods are sold in Great Britain as required by UK laws and regulations. Applicable products sold or distributed to consumers in Great Britain must bear the UKCA Mark either on the product itself or on the outer packaging.
For existing stock of imported products manufactured before 23:00 on December 31, 2022, affixed with the CE marking and imported into the UK under contract, traders can sell them as normal without the need for re-testing and marking in accordance with the new UKCA regulations, and existing CE marking certificates of products that have passed conformity assessment will be available for use until expiry of the certificate or until December 31, 2027 (whichever is earlier). The existing CE marking for products that have passed the conformity assessment will be able to be used until the expiration of the certification or until December 31, 2027, whichever is earlier.
