The partnership will enable sellers to easily manage all of their transactions on the eBay platform, providing a simplified selling experience and flexibility in managing funds. When eBay offers managed payments, funds from buyer payments will be transferred to the seller's Payoneer account instead of PayPal. All sales will be paid in US Dollars.
eBay will begin inviting sellers to register for Managed Payments in March 2021, starting with Business Sellers who are compatible with Managed Payments. Sellers will be required to keep their eBay account information up-to-date in order to meet the requirements of this change.
Meanwhile, for a seller's eBay account to successfully register for Managed Payment Services, the following information is required to verify the seller's identity and business information to ensure compliance:
● Business name and address
● Seller's business Payoneer account information
► If the seller already has a Payoneer account, make sure the Payoneer account details match their eBay account.
► If the seller does not currently have a Payoneer account, the seller can create a new Payoneer account on the eBay platform after the registration process has started.
● Bank account information for the seller's business - Payoneer requires the seller to provide a corporate bank account number or a bank account number acceptable under local laws and regulations.
● Credit Card Information - During the registration process, sellers are required to associate a credit card with their eBay account. This credit card will be used to pay fees associated with refunds/disputes.
Sellers whose business registration address is located in Mainland China need to prepare the following additional information:
● Business license
● Identity and contact information of legal representatives
Sellers whose business registration address is located in Hong Kong or Macau, China need to prepare the following additional documents:
● Certificate of Incorporation
● Name, address and date of birth of the company's directors
Sellers whose business registration address is located in Taiwan, China need to prepare the following additional documents:
● Business license
● Name, address and date of birth of the chairman or director
If a seller receives an invitation from eBay, it is recommended that the seller register in time for the deadline to avoid any disruption to the seller's business. Most sellers will receive invitations to register for the Managed Payments Service in March and April 2021, which is the deadline to register for the service.
Upon completion of the registration, the seller's account will be placed on a pending activation status to manage payments. eBay will notify the seller in advance of the activation date for the club and no changes will occur to the seller's account or payment method until then. eBay will notify the seller in advance of the activation date and will share more information with the seller about this change.
