Germany EPR# Germany WEEE# Cross-border E-commerce

According to the EU regulation, the German WEEE compliance will be mandatory from July 1, 2023 onwards. On June 5, 2023, Amazon will gradually stop selling goods that do not meet the requirements of WEEE compliance, and on July 1, 2023, Alibaba and eBay will begin to formally impose mandatory controls on electrical and electronic equipment sold to Germany.
Sellers are required to submit the German EPR number for electrical and electronic equipment to the Platform. If the seller fails to submit the German EPR number in time and pass the review of the platform, the non-compliant products will be stopped. This shows that the official and the platform are determined to comply with the regulations. The trend is unstoppable!

If you meet the following conditions then you need to meet the compliance requirements of the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act and provide your WEEE number to your account:
■ If you manufacture goods in the corresponding country/region that are subject to extended producer responsibility requirements, or;
■ If you import goods into the corresponding country/region that are subject to extended producer responsibility requirements, or;
■ If you sell goods that require extended producer responsibility in the corresponding country and you are not incorporated in that country.
Registered German WEEE seller:
Check to make sure that your WEEE registration number is valid on the EAR website and upload your registration number to the sales platform's compliance portal in a timely manner;
Unregistered German WEEE seller:
It is important to submit the registration application as soon as possible to avoid the store's products being taken off the shelves. After getting the registration number, you also need to check that the WEEE registration number is valid on the EAR website and enter the platform's compliance portal to upload the registration number in time. If you haven't uploaded your German WEEE number after your product has been removed from the platform, you need to wait for the German WEEE number to be registered and then upload it again to verify the success of the uploading process, and then the sales platform will restore the sales rights of the products that have been removed from the shelves due to the effect of the WEEE registration number.
WEEE compliance requires that the Authorized Representative acts on behalf of the seller to fulfill his legal obligations as a producer in Germany. According to the German official requirements, the WEEE Authorized Representative must undergo an annual review by the German EAR and obtain the qualification of Authorized Agent, and at the same time meet the Authorized Representative's share of the agent sufficient to qualify for the WEEE application for registration for the customer to obtain a registration number for the customer's name of the registered customer operation of the new category or the new brand!

The Green Circle has partnered with qualified Authorized Representatives on the list to ensure the progress and timeliness of the registration process and to help sellers to successfully register their WEEE WEEE. There are only a limited number of slots for Authorized Representatives on the EAR, so sellers who need to register should contact the Green Circle as soon as possible to obtain a slot. Currently, the Green Circle can provide proof of registration within 3 days to ensure that your German WEEE registration has been submitted to the EAR system in a timely manner.
