According to a joint report by the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the European Commission, in 2022, the EU seized about 86 million counterfeit goods in the border and internal markets, with a total value of more than \u20ac2 billion, an increase of about 3% from 2021.The main goods seized included games, packaging materials, toys, cigarettes and recorded CDs\/DVDs, which accounted for a total of more than 72%. Although the number of goods seized at the border decreased by 43%, their value increased by 11%, with the main countries of origin being China, Turkey and Hong Kong, China. The report is intended to help develop effective countermeasures against infringement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
