General Product Safety Regulation
The General Product Safety Regulation, or GPSR, is a European Union regulation designed to ensure that all products on the market are safe.
GPSR requires manufacturers and suppliers to conduct the necessary safety assessments of their products and take measures, such as labeling warnings and providing instructions for use, when necessary to ensure the safety of their products for consumers. GPSR consists of the following main requirements
1. Manufacturer's obligation:
Manufacturers or importers must ensure that their products meet safety and compliance requirements, establish appropriate inspection procedures, and conduct risk assessments before placing new products on the market.
2. Compliance marking of the product
The product must bear the European Conformity Mark (CE Mark), which indicates that the product meets the applicable safety and health requirements of the European Union.
3. CE marking of conformity
The conformity assessment procedure for CE marking consists of self-declaration, conformity.
4. Market Supervision
EU member states are responsible for market surveillance of products, including import, wholesale, retail, etc., to ensure compliance with the GPSR requirements.
