The survey coincides with the announcement of US tariffs, which have caused market uncertainty and border delays at key transportation gateways. Encouragingly, however, the report highlights a resilient industry that has been able to adapt quickly and survive and thrive in tougher conditions.<\/p>\n<p>For UK retailers, transportation costs (45%) and customs regulations and duties (41%) are now seen as two of the biggest barriers to international sales growth. This is highly similar to the challenges faced by cross-border sellers in Taiwan, especially when it comes to European market expansion. More like a general phenomenon, more than a quarter (27%) of retailers cited logistics and fulfillment complexities, while 24% experienced difficulties with compliance and local laws.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this, 62% of UK retailers are optimistic about their company's ability to successfully expand across borders by 2025. This figure is lower than the global sample of 72%, but still shows strong confidence. Rather than backing down, most UK retailers are responding positively to these challenges.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of sales channels, the study reveals clear regional differences. 43% of UK retailers sell through their own websites, 38% use online marketplaces and only 18% sell through social commerce. This contrasts sharply with the Asia Pacific region, where 42% of retailers sell through social channels. This data provides a valuable reference for Taiwanese sellers planning to enter different markets.<\/p>\n<p>Most revealingly, in terms of sustainability, 40%'s UK retailers feel the pressure to meet sustainability standards, with 43% stating that the biggest barrier to implementing sustainability initiatives is high costs and 31% struggling to align sustainability targets with customer expectations.<\/p>\n<p>Want to know more?
